Kabul: German TV premiere

From 20 July 2026, the international series Kabul will be available on the ZDFmediathek. Its German free-to-air premiere begins on Monday, 27 July 2026 at 22:15 on ZDF.

The series tells the story of the dramatic fall of Kabul in the summer of 2021: as the Taliban rapidly retake Afghanistan, diplomats, soldiers and families fight for survival and a final way out of the city.

The European co-production features Jonathan Zaccaï, Darina Al Joundi, Shervin Alenabi, Gianmarco Saurino, Jeanne Goursaud, Eric Dane and Ludwig Blochberger, among others.

Kabul

The miniseries Kabul celebrates its world premiere in the international competition at SERIES MANIA. The festival takes place in Lille from 21 to 28 March 2025.

A World Divided: 1939-1962

The six-part docudrama series A World Divided follows real lives between 1939 and 1962. Ludwig Blochberger appears as Rudolf Höß in two episodes.
