Ludwig Blochberger presented the 2024 European Culture Award to the Vienna Boys’ Choir and Vienna Girls’ Choir and delivered a tribute in their honour. The gala took place at the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
Since 1 April 2024, the international drama series Kabul has been filming in and around Athens. It tells the story of the fall of Kabul in August 2021 and is directed by Olga Chajdas and Kasia Adamik.
December brings further performances of The Abduction from the Seraglio at the Vienna State Opera. This production marked Ludwig Blochberger’s final collaboration with director Hans Neuenfels, who died on 6 February 2022.
Ludwig Blochberger plays Rudolf Höß in the six-part docudrama series A World Divided produced by LOOKSfilm for ARD, arte, SWR and ORF. Directed by Olga Chajdas, filming takes place on location in Poland.
On 13 May 2023, Lutz and Ludwig Blochberger present Holztheater at the Ekhof-Theater in Gotha. The staged musical programme explores texts by Rolf Hochhuth and Thomas Bernhard.
In September, Ludwig Blochberger is filming the independent feature Impatience of the Heart. The screenplay adapts Stefan Zweig’s novel of the same name. Lauro Cress directs, with casting by Sorrel Athina Jardine.
